Notes
Tips and tricks.
Be sure to use an all-natural peanut butter that does not contain added oils or sugars, and be sure to avoid xylitol. This doesn't have to be an expensive kind. For example, the Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter only contains peanuts and salt as ingredients. I found it at my local store for less than $3.00.
If you don't have pumpkin puree, you can also use unsweetened apple sauce or mashed bananas. These will both add a little sweetness and fiber.
If you can't find gluten-free oat flour, you can make your own by grinding up gluten-free oats. If you are not worried about gluten-free, you can also use regular oats.
If your treats get a little dry and are not holding their shape. you can add a little bit of stock to the gluten-free treat dough or use a little water.
Shaping homemade dog treats. - You can cut these gluten-free treats into whatever shape you like, big or small. Just note that the baking time will vary slightly depending on how big or small you make them.
