Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
In a large bowl combine the oats, nuts (if using) sugar, salt and cinnamon and stir to combine.
In a small saucepan combine the butter, honey, molassas and vanilla over medium heat.
When the mixture just starts to boil take it off the heat and stir in the apple sauce, then pour it over the bowl with the oats to combine.
Mic the wet ingredients into the dry until it is evenly coated.
In another small bowl whisk the egg white until it is white and frothy and then fold it into the oat mixture.
Spread the oat mixture onto the baking sheet lightly pressing it down.
Bake the granola in the oven, about 30 minutes or until the mixture is golden brown stirring occationally.
Remove the granola from the oven and add the chopped dried apples to the top, lightly pressing them in.
Allow the granola to cool completely before breaking it up and storing it in an airtight container and enjoying!
