Place the baking rack on top of the rimmed baking sheet.
Lay the bacon flat on top of the baking tray. Make sure that the bacon strips are not overlapping. The bacon will shrink as it does with other cooking methods so the pieces can be close without overlapping.
Cook the bacon in the oven for 18-25 minutes, depending on how well done you like your bacon. I suggest checking the bacon at 18 minutes and then every 2-3 minutes until you know how long your perfect bacon takes. I prefer mine to be golden without being overly done, and it takes about 20 minutes in my oven.
Drain and enjoy your bacon!
Notes
Best Oven Temperature to Cook Bacon in the Oven
I’ve personally found I like the results best at 400 degrees. At this temperature, the bacon crisps up faster and get the nice crisp that I want in a reasonable time. If you like your bacon a little less crisp, you can reduce your oven temperature to 350-375 degrees. Just note your cooking times will vary at the lower temperature.
Storing Leftover Bacon
Leftover cooked bacon is excellent to keep around. To store it, place it in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. It’s the perfect addition to add to breakfast scrambles, chopped salads, or simply snacking.
Reheating Leftover Bacon
When I want to reheat bacon, I like the results better by merely warming them up in a dry skillet over low heat until it’s warm.
