Homemade Apple Sauce

There is nothing like homemade apple sauce to enjoy all that comes with the tastes of fall!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs Apples about 6 medium apples
  • ½ C Water
  • 2 TBS Lemon Juice
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon optional
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot place, the apples. Add the water, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, and salt and stir.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat and then reduce the temperature to love and cover.
  • Allow the mixture to simmer for about 30 minutes or until the apples are completely soft and cooked through.
  • Once the apples are fully cooked, remove them from the heat.

Notes

For a chunkier apple sauce, simply mash the apples in the pot with a potato masher. For a smoother apple sauce, either use the immersion blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
