Gluten-free Sweet and Tangy Teriyaki Chicken

  • 1 Pound Chicken Cubed
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Seed Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • ¼ Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Rice Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ Cup Gluten-free Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 2 Tablespoons Mirin or 2 teaspoons umami powder.
  • 3 Cloves Minced Garlic or 1 ½ Teaspoons ground garlic
  • 12 Teaspoons Minced Ginger or 1 Teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn Starch or Arrowroot Starch
  • 1 TBS Green Onion Optional
  • 1 TBS Sesame Seeds Optional


  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil and the chicken. Allow the chicken to cook, rotating as needed until the chicken is almost cooked.
    1 Pound Chicken, 2 Tablespoons Sesame Seed Oil
  • While the chicken is cooking, add the remaining ingredients into a bowl and mix till combined.
    2 Tablespoons Honey, ¼ Cup Dark Brown Sugar, ¼ Cup Rice Vinegar, ½ Cup Gluten-free Soy Sauce, 2 Tablespoons Mirin, 3 Cloves Minced Garlic, 12 Teaspoons Minced Ginger, 2 Tablespoons Corn Starch
  • Add the sauce mixture to the chicken, reduce the temperature and let it simmer until the sauce thickens and the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Serve alongside your favorite rice, cauliflower rice, or even some stir-fry veggies on the side and enjoy!
